Lead Free Circuit Board Manufacturing

Lead free is restrictly controlled in electronics which are sold in Europe and America countries. NOD Electronics fully takes your product environment requirements into account to offer lead free PCB manufacturing services. The Pb free PCBs are in compliance with RoHS directives and standards, also friendly to end user and environment. Our printed circuit boards do not contain cadmium, hexavalent chromium, lead, mercury, PBB (Polybrominated biphenyl), PCDE (Polybrominated dephenyl ether) compounds according to RoHS. During the surface finish stage of PCB manufacturing, our engineers follow strict operation guides of lead free finishes, such as Solder Finish (lead free HASL), Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold (ENIG), Electroplated Nickel and Soft (bondable) and Hard Gold, Immersion Silver, Immersion Tin (White Tin), Organic Solderability Preservatives (OSP).

All of our lead-free PCBs are made from UL certificated laminates which endure the high temperature and long duration lead free assembly cycle (in excess of 260 degrees C). These laminates are suitable for lead free assembly processes that require the laminate base material to bear temperatures in excess of 260 degrees C for extended periods of time. High temperature laminates ensure the higher temperature cycling requirements for some lead free PCB assembly applications.

Lead free PCBs are more solid. In the process of lead-free soldering, the melting point temperature is 217 degrees Celsius, and for lead soldering, the melting point temperature is 183 degrees Celsius. Due to lower temperature of lead soldering, there is less heat damage to electronics, so printed circuit board in lead process is more bright, harder and performance than lead-free PCB. But lead-free soldering is more stable because of higher temperature soldering and it becomes a necessary term in developed countries. In terms of manufacturing cost, there are more requirements such as lead-free auxiliary materials during lead-free soldering. The cost of wave soldering using SN and hand-welded using wire is 3 times higher and cost of reflow soldering using lead-free solder paste is 2 times higher.
