Beidou entered global navigation systems of the International Maritime Organization
International Maritime Organization recently approved the Beidou satellite navigation system on the 94th session, marking the official Beidou satellite navigation systems become part of the global radio navigation system and achieved international legitimacy for maritime applications. This is the first time when China’s Beidou satellite navigation system standard gain recognition system of international organizations.
According to reports, China is IMO A class member. The Ministry of transport on behalf of the Chinese Government pledged to the International Maritime Organization that the Beidou satellite navigation system service performance and operation and maintenance requirements, and the application of Beidou satellite navigation systems in the field of international maritime policy, expressed the Chinese Government’s responsibility and attitude. The International Maritime Organization’s endorsement of Beidou satellite navigation system to make Beidou satellite navigation systems became the global positioning system (GPS), GLO/nano satellite navigation system (GLONASS) and a third of global navigation satellite systems and serve the world maritime users. This will inevitably result in the Beidou satellite navigation systems in the field of navigation internationalization and industrialization.
The Beidou navigation system recognized by the International Maritime Organization will promote application of Beidou satellite navigation system and complete the Beidou satellite navigation systems for maritime international standardization system to lay a good foundation. According to reports, upon the approval by the International Maritime Organization, China will continue to promote the International Electrotechnical Commission, international organization, international maritime radio AIDS to navigation Technical Committee of international technical organizations, such as the formulation and revision of standards, norms, guidelines, documents, in order to achieve the Beidou satellite navigation system in the field of international maritime use.
